Goat meat with yogurt and artichokes in the oven

Wonderful and delicious recipe, perfect for the Easter table!


  • 1kg goat meat (shanks)
  • 10-12 artichoke hearts
  • 3 cups of tea sheep yogurt skinless
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 2 eggs
  • freshly ground nutmeg
  • salt as you want
  • freshly ground pepper

How to do

  1. Boil the hearts of artichokes in salted water for 3 ‘- 4’. Take them off with a slotted spoon and leave them aside. Choose preferably a closed clay pot. Place the meat, add salt, oil and brush it with butter.
  2. Cover the pan and cook the lamb at 180 – 200 ° C for 1 hour. Uncover and continue baking for 20 minutes. Beat in a bowl with a wire the yogurt with eggs, nutmeg, salt and pepper, until they get a thick sauce.
  3. Place the artichokes around the meat and pour over with the yogurt sauce. Leave in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes yet, until a crust is formed. Serve immediately with a green salad.
